My family history inspires my work. Over trays of Lebkuken with my Oma, bowls of matzah ball soup with my grandmother, and lox bagels with my grandfather, I heard stories of my family. Stories filled with humor and sorrow. Stories vividly remembered and vividly embellished when details began to fade. Their stories weave together, directly connecting generations.  I use my art to remember these stories and the moments in which, sitting across from my grandparents, they were told to me. Centering familial heirlooms in my mixed media artwork not only allows me to create a visual record of my family's stories but allows me to understand my place in them as well.
